Hi, I'm Margaux
I have a marine biology degree (2016), the French CAH1B professional diving qualification, and I work as an underwater camera operator and naturalist guide. For several years now I have travelled the world's oceans with one mission: to document the fragile beauty of the deep and share stories that make people care about protecting it.
Diving is not just a job to me: it is a human and artistic encounter with a marine world that is too often misunderstood. Ever since I was a child I dreamed of working with turtles or sharks. Life decided otherwise, at least at first: I started out in coral ecotoxicology on Réunion Island, then worked at the French Naval Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service (SHOM) in Brest, then on coral restoration in Indonesia — before sharks finally crossed my path. Since I specialised in diving with them in 2021, they have become an essential part of my life, one I would find very hard to do without.
But while they are my speciality, they are not the only ones that deserve the spotlight. Every inhabitant of the ocean, from the most discreet to the most impressive, plays a precise role in the fragile balance of marine ecosystems. I use my images and our expeditions to educate, raise awareness and get people involved in all these aspects of marine life — because we protect what we understand, and we preserve the whole by protecting every link in the chain.

Why sharks?
As a child they fascinated me as much as they frightened me. That tension between fear and fascination is what pushed me to go and meet them rather than avoid them, to study them in order to understand them, and to put that understanding to work for a bigger cause: protecting our oceans.
Sharks are the guardians of the seas, essential to the balance of the marine food chain. Yet they are among the most threatened species, victims of overfishing, habitat destruction and a largely unfounded fear. My goal is simple: change the way we see them and put them back at the heart of conservation.
For four years I specialised in human–shark interaction while diving, guiding divers to exceptional destinations and running seminars and workshops on how we behave around sharks. Those hours spent alongside them taught me humility and respect: in their world, we are only visitors.
The power of images today
In a world saturated with visual content, a strong image or video can still leave a mark and prompt action. I put my expertise at the service of brands that want to show a real environmental commitment, of scientists and NGOs who need content to raise awareness, and of passionate divers who want to capture their adventures.
I firmly believe images are a powerful tool for changing the world: I do my best to use them to encourage responsible practices, promote conservation and make people think.
One thread, several jobs
What I do
Guiding expeditions with Blue Mind Expeditions takes up a large part of my time. The rest goes to other assignments: film shoots, photo shoots, work for NGOs, and talks on the marine environment for companies, schools and public events.

Field assignments down to 30 m: filming and photography, water safety for crews, sampling, species monitoring and photo-identification for research.

Filming and stills on land and underwater: documentaries, brand campaigns, events, portraits. I film, I photograph, I edit and I colour-grade.

Schools, dive clubs, companies, festivals and trade shows: I talk about sharks, the marine environment, ecotourism, citizen science and more.
The idea
Blue Mind Expeditions
To go further than images alone, I co-founded Blue Mind Expeditions: diving expeditions built around respectful encounters with marine megafauna, combining talks and citizen science. From the Azores to the Galápagos, every trip contributes — directly or indirectly — to protecting the marine environment.
