ABOUT ME

Hi!
My name is Margaux Le Brun, I am a naturalist guide, videographer, and photographer specializing in creating terrestrial and underwater content, with a particular passion for sharks and marine ecosystems.
I graduated with a degree in marine biology in 2016, and I am a CAH1B professional diver and scuba diving instructor.
For several years now, I have been traveling the world’s oceans, guided by a mission: to capture the fragile beauty of the deep sea and share stories that raise awareness about ocean conservation.
My work: Capturing the invisible
Diving with sharks is much more than just a job: it is a human and artistic encounter with a world that is too often misunderstood. I work for:
Share and inspire: I use my images to educate, raise awareness, and encourage people to better understand and protect the oceans.
Demystifying sharks: Breaking down stereotypes surrounding them and highlighting their essential role in marine ecosystems.
Immortalizing unique moments: Every image or video I capture tells a story: that of a majestic animal, an awestruck diver, or a fleeting moment in the middle of the deep blue sea.

Shark Education
For four years, I worked with Shark Education, an organization committed to promoting sustainable ecotourism around sharks, alongside Steven Surina.
As a naturalist guide specializing in human-shark interactions, I have accompanied divers to exceptional destinations to encounter these fascinating animals. These trips were not limited to simple dives: they included seminars and workshops where I shared my knowledge about shark behavior, their interactions with humans, and best practices for observing them responsibly.
With over a thousand dives alongside top predators such as tiger sharks, bull sharks, and even oceanic whitetip sharks in the Red Sea, I have gained invaluable experience. I am also one of the few divers to have practiced tonic immobility with sharks: I was the first woman in the world to succeed in South Africa using Walter Bernardis’ technique.
These moments spent underwater taught me the importance of humility and respect in an environment where we are merely visitors.
Why sharks?
When I was little, these animals fascinated me as much as they frightened me. My innate, deep love for the marine environment and my curiosity drove me to overcome this fear by studying them in order to serve a greater cause: protecting our planet.
Sharks are the guardians of the oceans, essential for regulating the marine food chain. Yet they are among the animals most threatened by human activities: overfishing, habitat destruction, and unfounded fear.
My goal is simple: to change perceptions and put these animals back at the heart of the debate on ocean conservation.
Diving with them is both a challenge and a privilege. Each encounter teaches me humility, self-control, and respect for a world where we are merely visitors.

The impact of images today
In a world saturated with visual content, a powerful image or video can still make a lasting impression and inspire action.
That’s why I put my expertise to work for:
- Brands wishing to promote their commitment to the environment.
- Scientists and NGOs needing content to raise awareness and educate.
- Individuals or passionate divers who want to immortalize their underwater adventures (but not only!).
I firmly believe that images are a powerful tool for changing the world, and I strive to use them to encourage responsible practices, promote conservation, and inspire reflection.
What I propose
- Guided shark diving: In unique destinations, discover these animals in their natural environment, while respecting sustainable practices.
- Citizen science workshops: Involving divers in collecting data on sharks and other animals.
- Seminars and workshops: Lectures and training courses on sharks, their behavior, and responsible interactions with them.
- Photo and video content creation: on land or underwater, to capture authentic moments.
- Collaborative projects: Working with brands, NGOs, or scientists on impactful campaigns.
- Exclusive stock footage: A library of underwater and terrestrial videos available for purchase for your creative, advertising, or educational projects. My footage includes rare and authentic scenes showcasing marine wildlife, marine ecosystems, and terrestrial wildlife.
- Preset packages (coming soon): To help photographers and videographers enhance their underwater shots with professional calibration tools.
